Nestled in the Lakewood neighborhood of Dallas, this stunning Texas Contemporary is home to two of the most stylish New York transplants. Crisp white walls are interspersed with an eclectic art collection and graphic textiles. For the powder room, the couple wanted something FUN. As you can see from the before photos, the space was a little lackluster and didn’t reflect their beautiful home. With a wallpaper sample in hand, I knew we needed to build the design around the cheeky print. We also needed to work with the existing vanity.

I started with the Kelly Wearstler vanity light by Visual Comfort. The polished nickel band and backplate features the most delicate etchings reminiscent of tribal design. When my original mirror got canceled due to…you guessed it…supply issues, I ran around town to source the perfect replacement. This faux bone mirror proved a happy accident, it’s simple form fitting perfectly in the space.

When I spotted the whimsical Gaucho piece at Scout Design Studio I knew it was the perfect piece for this vibrant powder room. Hand-cut cowboy boots pop against the white canvas, a cheeky nod to the clients new Texas roots. Because we invested in wallpaper, lighting and wall décor, I mixed in accessories and planters from everyone’s favorite retailers. Just because a powder room has a small footprint doesn’t mean you have to skimp on style. Drink tables aren’t just for the parlor! I layered a small accent table with a brass planter for a cute corner moment that off-set the polished nickel finishes in the space.
